Open-Silicon and Intersil Added to Semico's IP Conference Lineup!

Phoenix, Arizona May 9, 2012 - Semico is proud to announce the addition of two new speakers to our stellar lineup for the Semico IMPACT 2012: Focus on the IP Subsystem conference. Dr. Naveed Sherwani, Co-Founder, President and CEO of Open-Silicon, and Tony Stelliga, Director of Signal Integrity Products for Intersil, will participate on the "Who Wins in the IP Ecosystem?" panel. Mahesh Tirupattur of Analog Bits will moderate the panel, and Suk Lee of TSMC and Jean-Marie Brunet of Mentor Graphics will also be on the panel.

Dr. Sherwani serves as President and CEO of Open-Silicon. Prior to co-founding Open-Silicon, Dr. Sherwani was the founder and General Manager of Intel Microelectronics Services where he led efforts to promote the use of disciplined ASIC methodologies to improve design efficiency and time-to-market. He currently sits on the GSA (Global Semiconductor Association) Board of Directors. Prior to joining Intel, he worked as a consultant for various telecommunications and computer companies, mainly focusing on ASIC design flow and cell library design to improve time-to-market. He also served as a Professor at Western Michigan University, where his research concentrated on VLSI Physical Design Automation, combinatorics, and graph algorithms. Dr. Sherwani authored the main textbook on Physical Design and authored or co-authored 3 books and over 100 articles on various aspects of Physical Design Automation and ASICs. Dr. Sherwani received his Ph.D from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Tony Stelliga currently serves as the Director of Signal Integrity Products at Intersil Corporation. Intersil is a provider of products with unprecedented speed/power capability for consumer and High Performance Computing markets. Prior to Intersil he was Chairman and CEO of Quellan, a leading developer of Analog Semiconductors and High performance Interconnects. Quellan's patented radio frequency noise cancellation technology and low power Data Center Interconnects have won numerous awards, design wins and patents. Mr. Stelliga has also held management and strategic positions at Intel Corporation and LSI Logic. In addition, Mr. Stelliga founded Softcom Microsystems - a pioneering leader in broadband network processors. Mr. Stelliga served as President, CEO and Chairman until 1999 when Intel acquired the Company. Mr. Stelliga has served as a Director at QSound Labs, a publicly traded company and a world leader in audio enhancement technology. He earned a B. Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa and currently holds 20 patents.
